General Dentistry in Kingston

Bayview Dental Centre offers a full scope of family dentistry services in Kingston for all stages of life.

We develop trusting relationships with our patients so they’re fully aware of their individual oral care needs and they’re not afraid to ask any questions.

Scheduling regular checkup appointments for everyone in your family is very important in order to maintain their oral health and be able to detect any issues as soon as possible. We recommend patients visit us twice a year (every six months) so we can stay on top of their dental needs, or just provide general cleaning, polishing and scaling!

Toddlers

Toddlers

Toddlers should visit the dentist for the first time before their first birthday. Toddlers enjoy milk before bed, but you’re actually increasing their risk of tooth decay by doing this. As the milk pools in their mouths as they sleep, it’s the perfect time for natural sugars to start attacking their baby teeth. We want to ensure their teeth are as healthy as possible as they age to make way for their permanent adult teeth.

Teens

Issues with teeth alignment can often occur during the teenage years. We monitor for alignment issues, overcrowding, gaps, underbites and overbites. The best time to provide orthodontic treatment is between the ages of ten and 14 as their head and mouth are still growing and their teeth are more susceptible to straighten.

Seniors

As we age, our teeth naturally begin weakening. We stay up-to-date with x-rays and any arising issues to ensure your gums and teeth remain as healthy as possible. We can discuss the possibilities of preventive care, complete denture care, dental implants, and more.

General Teeth Cleaning

We’ll always begin with a physical examination of your teeth to check for any signs of gingivitis, cavities, or other issues before we proceed with cleaning. During the cleaning process, we’ll begin with scaling to help get rid of tartar and plaque buildup, after which, toothpaste will be applied that will polish your teeth. Polishing is safe to do twice a year during your six-month checkups, but anything more than that and it can wear down the enamel on your teeth. We’ll finish with flossing and get between every nook and cranny, and then you’ll be able to rinse and receive a fluoride treatment.
